Thirty years of Pokémon
Pokémon Red and Green arrived in Japan on February 27, 1996, and the Pokémon Trading Card Game followed that October. Three decades later, the card game is marking the milestone with the 30th Celebration, a set built around one idea: Pikachu, drawn thirty different ways. The main set released on September 16, 2026, and every booster pack in it carries one of those thirty special Pikachu cards, each illustrated by a different artist.
The celebration reaches beyond the booster boxes. A run of First Partner art card sets began in March, and the Pikachu artwork has been carried into a figure line, gift boxes, deluxe card displays and a full set of accessories. This guide puts all of it in one place, with the Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian editions side by side.
The short version
- Every 30th Celebration booster box has 20 packs, and every pack includes 1 of 30 special Pikachu cards.
- The Simplified Chinese and Indonesian boxes are $96.99. The Japanese MEGA M6A box is $178.99.
- The three First Partner art card sets are in stock now, from $11.99.
