Kitakami and The Teal Mask

Crimson Haze features Pokémon and characters associated with Kitakami, the setting introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero: The Teal Mask. It is not a complete adaptation of the video game.

Ogerpon is primarily featured in the separate Mask of Change SV6 expansion. The official Crimson Haze guide instead notes that Sinistcha ex can work with Teal Mask Ogerpon ex from that later product.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is a Basic Pokémon ex whose Blood Moon attack requires less Energy as the opponent takes Prize cards. SV5a includes base, SR, SAR, and UR versions of the card.

These are different rarity treatments of the same Pokémon card identity. A specific Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is not guaranteed in a pack or booster box.

Greninja ex and Other Pokémon ex

Greninja ex appears as a Fighting-type Tera Pokémon ex. It can search the deck while dealing damage and can also damage two opposing Pokémon.

Other Pokémon ex include Sinistcha ex, Magcargo ex, Scream Tail ex, and Iron Thorns ex. Sinistcha ex interacts with Grass Energy in the discard pile, while Scream Tail ex and Iron Thorns ex support disruption-focused strategies.

Pokémon ex status, Tera status, and printed rarity are separate card characteristics.

Illustration-Focused Cards

Crimson Haze includes 12 AR cards. Eevee appears in an indoor scene featuring several Eevee, while Phione is shown swimming among other Water-type Pokémon.

Perrin and Hisuian Growlithe receive companion illustrations from complementary perspectives. Hisuian Growlithe is an AR card, while Perrin appears as both an SR and SAR card.

The remaining SAR cards are Sinistcha ex, Greninja ex, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, and Lana’s Aid. Displayed artwork does not guarantee a particular pull.

ACE SPEC and Trainer Cards

The official guide highlights Unfair Stamp and Hyper Aroma as ACE SPEC Item cards. ACE SPEC cards follow a one-per-deck restriction and are not a guaranteed booster-box inclusion.

Other Trainer cards include Perrin, Enhanced Hammer, Lucky Helmet, Lana’s Aid, and Caretaker. These cards support setup, disruption, recovery, and Kitakami-themed strategies.

AR, SR, SAR, and UR Breakdown

The 30 cards numbered above the base checklist are divided into:

  • 12 AR cards: 067/066–078/066
  • 10 SR cards: 079/066–088/066
  • 5 SAR cards: 089/066–093/066
  • 3 UR cards: 094/066–096/066

The UR cards are Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, Rescue Board, and Luminous Energy. Cards above 066 should not all be described as Secret Rares, alternate arts, or SAR cards.

Base Checklist vs. Cards Above 066

The base checklist runs from 001/066 through 066/066. Thirty higher-rarity cards extend the numbered checklist to Luminous Energy at 096/066, producing 96 numbered cards in total.

Promotional cards, reverse-holo variants, Korean printings, and English Twilight Masquerade cards are not part of that standard Japanese numbered checklist.

Japanese Booster-Pack and Box Configuration

Each Japanese Crimson Haze booster pack contains five randomized cards. A booster box contains 30 packs, for 150 physical cards.

The box does not contain 150 different cards. Duplicates may occur, and one box does not guarantee a complete set, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, Greninja ex, an ACE SPEC card, or a particular AR, SR, SAR, or UR card.

Crimson Haze, Mask of Change, and Twilight Masquerade

Crimson Haze SV5a and Mask of Change SV6 are separate Japanese products. Crimson Haze emphasizes Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Greninja, Sinistcha, and other Kitakami cards, while Mask of Change centers on Ogerpon and its four mask forms.

The later English Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade expansion incorporates cards and themes associated with both Japanese-era products. The sealed releases are not identical and differ in language, numbering, checklists, packaging, and booster configuration.

Japanese vs. Korean Crimson Haze

Japanese and Korean Crimson Haze are separate official regional products. They differ in language, packaging, release dates, and distribution even though they follow the SV5a card framework.

This guide covers the Japanese release. Korean dates and sealed-product specifications should not be applied to the Japanese booster box.
