It began the four-part Collect 151 series, which revisits Pokémon from the original Kanto Pokédex through regional card treatments, Pokémon ex cards, special illustrations, and related collectible products.

How Journey Began the Collect 151 Series
Collect 151 Journey was the first of four principal Simplified Chinese Collect 151 booster releases issued during 2025:

Together, these releases form a regional collecting series centered on the original 151 Pokémon. Each installment revisits the theme through its own packaging, patterned-card selection, special artwork, Pokémon ex cards, and featured Pikachu AR.
Collect 151 Journey is separate from Japanese Pokémon Card 151 and English Scarlet & Violet—151. The Simplified Chinese release has its own packaging, pack formats, card treatments, product configuration, and associated collectibles.

The Original 151 Pokémon Concept
Journey’s base checklist covers the Pokémon from Bulbasaur through Mew. The base collection numbers correspond with each Pokémon’s National Pokédex number, creating a Pokédex-style collecting structure from 001 through 151.
The release also contains Pokémon ex cards, patterned versions, and cards numbered beyond the base 151. Pikachu 170/151 AR is one example of a card appearing above the main numbered sequence.
Opening one booster box does not provide one of every original Pokémon. Cards are randomly inserted, duplicates may occur, and neither box format guarantees a complete base checklist or master set.
Standard Five-Card Booster Format
The standard Collect 151 Journey pack contains five randomized standard-size Pokémon cards, including one foil card.
A standard booster box contains 15 five-card packs, producing 75 physical cards across the box. That total refers to the number of cards opened rather than 75 different cards.
This format provides more individual pack openings than the jumbo box, but it does not guarantee specific Pokémon, patterned cards, rarities, or the Pikachu AR.
Jumbo 20-Card Booster Format
The Collect 151 Journey jumbo pack contains 20 randomized cards, including seven foil cards. “Jumbo” refers to the larger card count inside the pack—the cards themselves are standard Pokémon card size.
A jumbo booster box contains six 20-card packs, producing 120 randomized cards across the box.
The jumbo format contains more cards and foil cards per pack, but that does not establish better pull rates for specific cards. A Master Ball-pattern card, Pikachu AR, Pokémon ex card, or complete set is not guaranteed.
Poké Ball and Master Ball-Pattern Cards
Collect 151 Journey includes cards with recognizable Poké Ball and Master Ball patterns. These are patterned foil treatments and should not be treated as interchangeable with a card’s rarity mark, Pokémon ex classification, or AR designation.
Collectors may sometimes describe these cards broadly as reverse foils, but naming the visible Poké Ball or Master Ball pattern provides more useful regional context.
A particular patterned card is not guaranteed in an individual pack or booster box. The same Pokémon may also appear through more than one treatment or card variation.
Journey’s Pikachu AR
Journey features Pikachu 170/151 with the official AR rarity designation. Illustrated by Oswaldo KATO, the card shows Pikachu moving through a bright landscape with Mew and other original Pokémon visible around the scene.
The card begins a four-part sequence of Pikachu illustrations released across the Collect 151 series. It is randomly inserted and is not guaranteed in either Journey booster-box format.

The original article previewed four Pikachu cards before all four set assignments were known. The completed sequence is:

All four cards are illustrated by Oswaldo KATO. The images follow Pikachu through changing environments and encounters with other original Pokémon.
Journey’s card uses a bright daytime landscape with Mew in the background. Hope places Pikachu in a field with Psyduck, Dragonite, and Jigglypuff. Surprise shifts to a moonlit forest with Gengar, Parasect, and Arbok. Gathering concludes with multiple Pikachu playing in a sunny clearing alongside Cubone and Vulpix.
The four illustrations form a sequential thematic series. They should not be described as a physically connected panoramic image unless Pokémon China confirms that classification. Each Pikachu belongs to its corresponding release, so only Pikachu 170/151 appears in Journey.
